The bright shining light of a morning sun

falls upon her shoulders.

She coaxes greens and dandelion

from the springtime garden.

The asparagus will bloom this year

The blossoms promise cherries.

She stretches out to touch the fruit

of the flowering new strawberries.

Strolling along the garden path,

leaning to touch a rose,

she cuts the stem of a pale yellow bud,

and shakes the earth from her clothes.
